• I am out of network with all health insurance providers. This allows flexibility in our work together and does not require that I provide a mental health diagnosis.

If you would like to use your out-of-network benefits, I have partnered with Mentaya, a platform that verifies out-of-network benefits and can assist with submitting claims. You can check to see what out-of-network benefits your health insurance plan provides here . All payments are due at the time of service.

  • I am currently seeing clients virtually and am located in Raleigh, NC. If you are located in the Raleigh area and are interested in having "walk and talk" sessions in person, we can discuss this during your free initial consultation. I am also licensed to practice/provide telehealth in Virginia and South Carolina.

If you are traveling within these 3 states, I can continue to see you virtually, however if either of us are located outside of these states we will have to reschedule our session.

  • The first session will typically last between 60-90 minutes. During that time we’ll get to know each other and I will ask questions about what brought you into therapy and your history. I’ll gather information needed to help me understand past and present factors that influenced your choice to enter therapy.

Additionally, we will discuss both of our expectations for therapy, practice policies, confidentiality, and provide the opportunity for you to ask questions. I will also provide more information about what to expect from my therapeutic approach so that you can decide if I'm the right fit for you!

My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, informed of what to expect, and hopeful about our work together!

  • It depends. There are various factors that can contribute to the length of therapy, however my goal for you is to not be in therapy forever. Research shows that individuals who are able to commit to weekly therapy sessions make the most progress, more quickly. Some clients find that 10-12 sessions are enough, while others may be in therapy for longer.

Clients who are wanting to work specifically on ERP for OCD should expect to commit to around 15-20 sessions. Clients who are able to commit to practicing skills, exposures, etc. between sessions are likely going to see results more quickly.

  • As someone who is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy, I believe that collaboratively developing a treatment plan is an essential part of the work. In our second session we’ll identify specifically what you’re hoping to get out of therapy and identify objectives to measure progress.

The treatment plan will provide us with an intentional roadmap for our work together so that you can get the most out of our time together.

  • Yes, I utilize a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record (EHR) and telehealth software. Your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to me, therefore we will discuss limits to confidentiality and what to do if we see each other in the community.

  • In accordance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect 1/1/2022, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) which details how much your psychotherapy sessions will cost if you are not using insurance or plan to use out-of-network benefits.

You have the right to have information about the estimate of our psychotherapy costs in writing at least 1 day prior to your service.

Additionally, if you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill.

or call No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059 from 8 am to 8 pm EST, 7 days a week, to submit your question or a complaint.

  • If you find that you need to cancel and reschedule a session, I need at least 24-hour advance notice.

Please keep in mind that your appointment time is reserved for you and if you are unable to provide at least 24-hour notice, you will be responsible for the rate of the full service that was scheduled.
